5 Things I Learned Using Pinterest for Business

1. It's free. Taking after the old adage, "it takes money, to make money," is in fact true, especially when it comes to starting a business. If you can save some money on your start up cost, why not do it?

2. Creating a personal account is simple. The initial sign up on Pinterest is pretty easy, and I was able to do it without instruction. Pinterest will ask you some questions to get a feel for what your interests are, and you're done. However, I was less certain when it came to converting to a business account on my own.

3. Pinterest is difficult to navigate. Once you have an account you are left lost and frustrated as to what to do next. There are some tutorials but who has time to search for them and read/watch them? It is very time-consuming to go through all of them. It is best if you seek help from YouTube or a friend who is experienced with the platform that can lend a hand and give you the essentials.

4. Pinterest can be cross connected to other platforms such as Facebook, Instagram or Twitter. Once you publish to one, it is published to all in a single click. The advantage is that it can bring in traffic to not only your Pinterest account but to your other accounts as well without having to spend any more time doing so.

5. You may also get assistance from Google to bring viewers to your boards if you have top notch pins. So much so that Whitney Bonds, a YouTuber recommended NOT to pay for advertising through Pinterest. If you’re interested in finding out how to get a top pin, you may be surprised that it is not simply about the content. There is an algorithm to get seen.
